Election Commission Meeting/ Ballot Draw

The Washington County Election Commission will meet Friday, March 11th at 1:00 p.m. in the Quorum Courtroom of the Washington County Courthouse.  

The Purpose of the meeting will be:

1. Approval of the minutes from the previous meeting

2. Ballot Draw for the Preferential Primary, Nonpartisan Judicial, Annual School Election and City of Tontitown Special Election for Mayor

At this meeting, ballot positions (the order in which a candidate's name will appear on the ballot) will be set for all contested Primary Federal, State and County contest, as well as the Nonpartisan Judicial, Annual School Board contest and City of Tontitown Mayor. 

Ballot Draw will proceed as follows: 

The Candidate List is compiled first by office and then by filing date.  Ballots will be drawn in this order.
Candidates who attend are invited to draw first, even if their name is not listed first on the Candidate List.
A candidate may send a representative to draw in their place.  However, candidates in attendance take precedence over candidate representatives.
A candidate or candidate representative may draw one time only.
If neither candidate nor candidate representative is present, the Election Commission will draw to determine ballot positions.

a. March 17th @ 9:00 a.m.  Ballot Approval for the Primary
b. March 23rd or 24th Precinct List Approval
