What does Planning do?

The Planning office facilitates all land development of areas outside the city limits in Washington County, including:

  • Certificate of occupancy (COO)
  • Certified surveys and civil plat review
  • Communication tower antennas/generators upgrade
  • Communication towers construction permits
  • E911 address application review (assigned by 911 Admin)
  • Floodplain development and permits
  • Large scale developments (LSD)
  • Lot splits and combinations
  • Other exemptions (ex. family splits, mortgage splits)
  • Property lotline adjustments (PLA)
  • Public webmap and GIS data
  • Subdivisions and minor subdivisions
  • Zoning
