Personal and Mission Statement

Being a public servant has meant so much to me since I was old enough to enter the workforce. Having pride in doing the best job possible and helping others along the way has been a focal point for myself and others that I have been fortunate enough to work with. The Mission of the Washington County Circuit Clerk’s Office is to provide residents of Washington County and non-residents alike, efficient, accurate, and professional customer service in the collection, recording, and distribution of legal documents ordered and recorded through Circuit Court in accordance with Federal and State Laws. Accomplishing this on a daily basis, while providing an efficient, respectful, and positive work environment for employees, is paramount in the success of the mission of the office.

Duties of the Circuit Clerk

The primary duties of our office revolve around filing, docketing, attending court, issuing of notices, records management, and reporting to the Administrative Office of the Courts.

Community Service

Service to the community began for me in 1990 when I entered the world of Law Enforcement. For the next 22 years, I was blessed with the opportunity to serve in several capacities such as patrol officer, K9 officer, SWAT Team Leader, Patrol Supervisor, Detective, and finally retiring at the rank of Administrative Lieutenant. With a continued passion for serving others, I ran and was elected to the Office of Circuit Clerk in 2012. For the past eight years, my incredible staff and I have moved the operations of the office forward to provide public records as “information at your fingertips”. We have utilized technology to be able to offer images and records via search engine on your computer, tablet, and smartphone. Also, we have increased in the amount of electronic land recording upwards to 90%+, making it more efficient to record documents without having to file them physically at the courthouse. In 2018, we implemented the eFlex electronic filing for our court documents, allowing the law community to file cases and entries online. In 2020, we began offering the ability to make circuit court fines and fees payments online which saves time and effort for our constituents. I am very active in the Arkansas Circuit Clerks Association and serve on the Executive Board, the Legislative Committee, and the Grants Committee. In 2017, I was appointed by the Arkansas Association of Counties to the AAC Opioid Task Force to serve as a voice for helping combat this destructive epidemic effecting communities all over Arkansas and around the nation. In 2020, I was honored to be selected by my peers to serve as the President of the Arkansas Circuit Clerks Association.
