The Circuit Clerk’s Office responsibilities, in general, include:

  • Recording of real estate documents
  • Filing of Court documents
  • Collection of Court fines and fees
  • Collection of Child Support payments
  • Filing Orders of Protection

Circuit Clerk’s Office has re-opened to the public. Please refer to the following if services are needed:

Real Estate:
A large percentage of our real estate recording occurs electronically. In consideration of the documents that are not able to be recorded electronically, any person who has the need to record a document may personally deliver the document(s) to the office or utilize USPS, FedEx, or UPS to deliver the documents to the Circuit Clerk’s Office for processing.

Court Documents:
A large percentage of our court documents are filed electronically through eFlex. For pro se litigants who cannot use the electronic system, please utilize USPS, FedEx, or UPS to deliver the documents to the Circuit Clerk’s Office for processing.

Court fines and fees:
Court fines and fees may be mailed in to: Washington County Circuit Clerk’s Office 280 N. College Ave. Suite 302 Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701, or you may make a payment online with your credit or debit card. You may also hand deliver your payment to the Circuit Clerk’s Office.

Child Support payments:
Child Support payments can be mailed in via USPS, FedEx, or UPS. You may also hand deliver your payment to the Circuit Clerk’s Office for processing. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Circuit Clerk’s Office Division of Child Support at (479)444-1541.

Filing Orders of Protection:
To continue to process Orders of Protection, the courthouse is allowing petitioners to have access to the Courthouse. Petitioners will need to and advise the security staff at the courthouse entrance that you need to fill out the required paperwork. What does the Circuit Clerk do?

The primary duties of our office revolve around filing, docketing, attending court, issuing of notices, records management, and reporting to the Administrative Office of the Courts.

Court Records

We file and process all the court documents for Civil, Domestic Relations, Criminal and Juvenile cases. Then we maintain those records and all appeals in our office.

It is our responsibility to prepare a list of prospective jurors, docket cases of the respective courts, issue summonses, subpoenas, writs and warrants related to each case, attend court and swear witnesses.

Land Records

We are also responsible for recording all deeds, mortgages, and conveyances of lands and buildings lying within the County, as well as maps and plats of newly laid out subdivisions and all records from other counties concerning land sales or conveyance which affect title in the County.

Other Duties

Other duties include the recording of powers of attorney, liens on real property, soldiers' discharges, leases, real estate fixture filing statements, performance bonds and public official bonds. The records of the Circuit Courts are the evidence of their official acts and, therefore, it is necessary that they be accurately recorded and well maintained.
