ELECTION OFFICIALS

A list of appointed election officials and deputy county clerks hired to conduct Early Voting and Election Day voting can be found in the County Clerk’s Office, Room 300, in the Washington County Courthouse.  The list will be available on November 18, 2024.   An objection to any individual’s service as an election official shall be made in writing within seven (calendar) days after the posting of the list and submitted to the Washington County Election Commission or the County Clerk.   That deadline is November 25, 2024.


BALLOT CANVASSING AND COUNTING

Absentee ballot outer envelopes, voter statements and applications will be opened and processed in Room 115 of the Washington County Courthouse beginning on November 26, 2024 and continuing until December 2, 2024.  Hours 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  

Absentee ballot outer envelopes, voter statements, applications, and absentee inner ballot secrecy envelopes will be opened, processed and counted at the Sheriff’s Annex, 1155 W. Clydesdale Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72701 on December 3, 2024 (Election Day) from 10:00 a.m. until they are completed. 

The absentee and early ballots will be tabulated at the Sheriff’s Annex, 1155 W. Clydesdale Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72701 beginning at 1:00 p.m. on December 3, 2024 (Election Day).  Results will not be released until after the polls close at 7:30 p.m.  A.C.A. § §7-5-416(a) (5) (d)

Election Day Ballots, after the polls close at 7:30 p.m., will be tabulated at the Sheriff’s Annex, 1155 W. Clydesdale Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72701.

Provisional Ballot Review will be at the Election Commission Office, 2615 South Brink Drive, Fayetteville, AR, on December 5, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

Provisional Ballot Hearing/Tabulating Accepted Provisional and UOCAVA Absentee Ballots will be at the Election Commission Office, 2615 South Brink Drive, Fayetteville, AR on December 12, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

Final Certification will be at the Election Commission Office, 2615 South Brink Drive, Fayetteville, AR on December 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.


ELECTIONEERING

Electioneering is the display of or audible dissemination of information that advocates for or against any candidate, issue or measure on a ballot.

Electioneering includes without limitation:

  • Handing out or distributing campaign literature or literature regarding a candidate, issue or measure on the ballot
  • Soliciting signatures on a petition
  • Soliciting contributions or other purpose
  • Displaying a candidate's name, likeness, or logo
  • Displaying or dissemination of buttons, hats, pencils, pens, shirts, signs, or stickers containing electioneering information
  • Disseminating audible electioneering information

Electioneering is prohibited:

  • in any Early or Election day site during voting hours
  • within 100 feet of the main exterior entrance used by voters during Early or Election Day Voting

 

Arkansas Code Annotated §7-1-103 and §7-1-104

 

Certain Early Vote sites by request of the property owner prohibit electioneering on their property.

These Early Vote sites do not allow campaign signs placed on their property:

Washington County Courthouse:  The Courthouse does allow signs to be held outside the 100ft.

Election Day Sites that do not allow campaign signs to be placed or held on their property:

Covenant Church on Wedington ( Fayetteville)

Mt. Comfort Church of Christ ( Fayetteville)
