On May 12, 2005, the Washington County Quorum Court adopted Resolution No. 2005-15 that established the Protect Agricultural and Rural Areas Task Force. The Quorum Court has charged the Task Force with the responsibility of drafting a "Protect Agricultural and Rural Areas in Washington County" report and recommendations. This is to include designated areas for agricultural and residential uses and commercial and industrial uses consistent with current land use patterns and future uses based upon citizen input through the Task Force. The report and recommendations regarding protecting agricultural and rural areas in Washington County is to be presented to the Quorum Court no later than its October 13, 2005, meeting, with an ordinance drafted for consideration by the Quorum Court no later than December 8, 2005. The PARA Task Force held their first meeting on June 22 and decided to meet as the full body on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. The Chairmen of the Task Force and the Sub-Committees will meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Both meetings will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will be held in the NE Conference Room on the 5th Floor of the Washington County Courthouse in Fayetteville.
